Short description of the group/project/topic of research

We are applying a visual proteomics approach to address several biological questions related to nuclear pore complexes and nuclear envelope architecture. This method allows us to detect the structural signatures of protein complexes in cryo-electron tomograms, providing detailed information on their precise position, orientation, and functional state.

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics to integrate cross-linking mass spectrometry (XL-MS) into our existing workflow. XL-MS reveals spatial proximity between proteins and, through non-cross-linked peptides, provides insight into the relative abundances of interactors. This complementary information is currently missing from our visual proteomics workflow, and integrating these techniques would significantly enhance detection capabilities and statistical confidence.

We offer postdoctoral training in structural proteomics within a highly interdisciplinary team, along with access to cutting-edge infrastructure.
